Ascent Header
fun, lot's of bolts, need lots of draws and a bit of trad gear helps, too. Long pitch.

like bouldering on a rope
this climb is just at the limit of what I can work out right now. I must have had 8 go's at the upper crux before pulling through it, then it gets juggier up higher. Getting off the ground is difficult, but not death-defying if you've got a good spotter.

nice and cool
Do this route on a hot day! The hideout area is easily 20 degrees cooler than any place else. The route is great, too.

nice route
didn't do it cleanly, but had a great time nonetheless. One tricky crux, then just pulling pockets to the top.

stellar
jumped on another parties TR. Next time worthy of a lead. I'd birng a .5 or .75 to protect the opening. Not that the climbing is difficult there, just that it's about 30 feet down even though you've only done 4 moves.

was I in Rumney?
Seems like you're climbing at the Bonzai wall in Rumney, not at all like most other climbs at Rushmore. Good holds, slightly overhung...if only twice as long!

Great climb
Very fun climb. A classic. My east coast bones aren't accustomed to belaying from the top of small spires!

nice TR
I disagree with the last lucander about it being soft for the grade. It's what I expect 10a to feel like. But it's only 60 feet long, and the crux crack is maybe 15-20 feet tops. There are kind of thin face moves to get you to the crack with a single cam below a bit below you. Probably shouldn't be your first 10a lead, but worthy of having on the ticklist.
