A Great Adventure

"Goldline" is not a sport climb, but well protected at the crux. Careful of that long runout between the 5th bolt and the anchors.

Exciting Roof

We really enjoyed the mostly moderate movement on "Yellow Rose of Texas," but the pull over the bulge is stout unless you have good footwork.

Twice is Nice

"Amarillo" is steep and thoughtful, but well protected. Wonderful pockets appear higher up on the route. We liked it so much we climbed it twice, then watched two other parties climb it. Still loose and crunchy, but more traffic will clean it up.

Fun in the Sun

Great weather and just a handful of climbers at Texas Canyon. "Hyperion" isn't a sport climb, but fun. It's a full rope length to the anchors, but you can rappel to the P1 anchor on Goldline" or "Aenea" and than to the base with one rope.

A Week Before X-Mas and 75 Degrees at Texas Canyon!

Awesome weather and nice warm rock. "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" is well protected and more sustained than "Goldline" or "Hyperion." the route has cleaned up nicely.

Fantastic

Got on this new route and there was no one else at Texas Canyon, except the quail hunters. Great pockets on this route. Steep and continuous to the upper slab. Well protected.

Pockets Galore

Steep pocket pulling low yields to balancy moves on crimps and shallow pockets near the top. Great, but short, shady route.
