Ascent Note
I thought this would be a fun route to try without any protection...it wasn't. It is about 25 feet straight up. The holds are good, but not adiquate for simple boulduring. I would not recommend trying this route inless you have protection. If you are into taking risks and an experienced climber, this route is an easy way to reach the top of Butt rock and set up your protection.

Like most of the routes at Rock City, the rating one this one is questionalbe. Some parts I would rate a 5.6 others closer to 5.10. I would really call it a 5.8. This climb is as challenging as you make it. Only a few tricky parts, but if you go off to the sides it can be really tough. If you like chimneying, this is a good route to try.

Ascent Note
This was my first outdoor route ever. My buddies thought it would be a fun one to warm up on, hehe little did we know how hard it would be. Neither of my friends could complete it. My second try I made it to the top. This is still the hardest route I have ever climbed. Advanced climbers or individuals in great shape should be able to climb this route. It is very uncomfortable on the way up, but rewarding in the end.

This is the Crack of Butt rock. It is an easy climb for anyone new or old to the sport. I use it as a way to get up, safely, and set up protection. I have never seen a persistant climber not make it up to the top of this route.
