first multi pitch ice. hired a guide and followed. (ian boyer). four pitches and walked off with a couple of raps. fun vertical sections.

it was wet and lots of rock tripe. climbed in stiff asolo boot. scary. really exposed without dry friction. no rope or pro. staying to the side and using choss/trees if needed added security. the bushwhack to the top when slide ran out was horrendous. descended in dark.

attempted the big crack under the overhang, but needed to climb the face on more delicate holds to get up. set up a toprope anchor on the ledge above.

ice climb in february. thin ice for first pitch. rested in an ice cave midway, after pitch three. very windy and serene. used single point cramps. excellent climbing. guided by ian boyer. Descent Options:
rappelled down through very deep snow in gulley to the left (looking at the slab).

nice fun climb. first pitch one small crux (for me). hashers heckled and distracted us. second pitch set anchor above some choss in the chimney. had to do second pitch in the dark. Dave and I had a blast. My first trad lead.
