Just wondering if a: RC.com sponsor climbers, and
b: Has anyone out there searched for sponsorship, or is sponsored?

I'm in the process of looking, (I've qualified to compete in the Australian National Technical Onsight Comp) and I would just appreciate some advice on what the best way is to go about it.

Cheers,
Elk

I'm sponsored. Seriously. And, I'm a fat guy that doesn't climb higher than 5.9 (by choice, think I can handle up to 5.10's, maybe 11's).

PM me.

Steve

Tristan,

I don't think a single one of us gets paid. At least, not by the climbing manufacturers. Perhaps a select few, as North Face will pay Conrad Anker to speak at seminars, but mostly we just get free stuff. However, I'm not bitching about getting free stuff. Don't get me wrong!

Oh. One last thing. Don't use "talent" as an excuse. I would make a safe assumption in saying 90% (at least) of the people on this site are better climbers than I am.

North Face pays their team climbers a yearly salary. The downside is that if they are going to sponsor you, they will call you not the other way around.

A good way to garner sponsorships is to get small minor sponsorships on your resume, this will compel other companies.

I am not a sponsored climber, I know a lot of them and this is where I have gathered my information.

my friend is sponsored by pushers and he said that they're looking for two more ppl, cause there's two more empty spots. So, anyone interested PM me and I'll see what I can do. I'm not sponsored though
Oh, forgot to add one important thing, if you wish to get sponsored, join tons of comp and win or at least get top 6 in some of them, or if you can, all of them, because that's how my friend got sponsored.
