Description

This hammer and axe combo preferred by those of us who enjoy the secure feeling of heavier tool that delivers solid "sticks" with every swing. The shaft sports a reverse clearance bend and ribbed sticky rubber Teardrop Grip that your fingers can really lock on to. A "bump" at the top of the grip gives subtle support when "choking up" on the handle to reach an even higher placement (with your other tool). It also helps prevent knuckle bashing. GRIPPER LEASHES (included) are padded with sticky rubber for greater support and a finely tuned and beveled EXTREME PICK comes with the tool - ready to use right out of the box. More? Use the unique non-slip WAFFLE faced CAMMERHEAD to cam into cracks or hook onto flakes - a definite aid for mixed routes. Ditto for the FIGHTING ADZE which extends the range to wider cracks. Very Please with these tools. I have the older Purple models and I have not had a chance to try the new ones. This said, again I am impressed with Trango! Great construction and good people to work with when in need of extra pieces or advice.

The tools sport a bent shaft that cleares buldges nicely, however it is not too bent that it mucks up pure vert climbing...it again shines on vert.
Great grip, very tactile and not undersized like some other companies.
Weighted perfect... righ in the head..I really do get solid first sticks and it hooks just as well.
The picks are quite aggressive! hold fantastic...maybe too well at times and may require a bit of leverage to release... you cam modify your picks I guess.. I just keep them sharp.
Cant wait to try the latest model, but they is really no need since I am still very comfortable with my old ones.
Over all the tool is on the light side but weighted properly.
