Hand Jammies

I always thought these were a joke as the only people who wore them were beginners. But this winter I saw a crackmaster wearing them in Joshua Tree and he gave them a stellar review. I bought a pair and I've been very surprised at how well they work. If you are a dedicated taper, these will save you time and money. They go on faster than tape, work almost as well as tape, and probably grab the rock better, being rubber. A good new pair of tape gloves will be thinner and tighter, especially around the wrists. But if you are just cruising up some fun hand or fist cracks, and want to prevent road burns and abrasions, these things are better than you think. Give them a try!

Yes, they look like a gimmick.
Obvious points: These go on and come off faster than tape gloves. They protect better than tape, last longer, and stick better. They make jamming in cold or hot rock much more tolerable. Purists will call you an aid climber, and they'll have a point- these do make jamming (at least, the cracks you'll fit with them on) easier.

Very comfortable and really work well. These save so much time and tape!

I really like these for #2 cam sized cracks cause my hands are small. I only wish they made them in an XS size as the small are quite large for me. And, they actually have improved my jamming technique when I'm not wearing them.

You will love them or hate them, or depending on the crack I have found that they will make your hands too big so they pose the problem of not getting your hands in the crack, making placement aquard. However if the crack fits with them on and it's really course rock they will make your day.
