Cat's Meow 5 out of 5 stars

A classic. I'm on my second now; the first lasted four years of heavy use (over 400 nights). No bag can match it's price, weight, and durability. As for warmth, it is comfortable to 25F I have used it down to 15F without a major problem (wear socks). For any kind of serious winter camping, this is not recommended. It is certainly excellent as a three season backpacking/camping bag and with it's free compression sack stores pretty compactly. Great bag, great value.

Great for a synthetic; however I'm going to go with down next time. Dosn't keep me as warm as I'd like. I can sleep in this supposedly 20 degree bag to about 35 degrees comfortably. Light and compact however. The synthetic fill is great for wet camping. The hood on this bag is great. No zipper problems to date!

This bag is super-nice for a synthetic bag. If you are going to be in damp conditions or you are looking to get a colder bag for less, this fully featured bag could be for you. The shortcomings that this bag suffers from are entirely related to the synthetic fill - lack of compression and durability. I picked up my Cat's Meow back in 2001/2 and I can tell you that it no longer keeps me near as warm as it once did - the synthetic fill definately has packed out after not a whole lot of use. That said, as far as synthetic bags go, it is the top of the line.

A great sleeping bag, light compact and the temp rating is right on. Also thanks to it being synthetic you dont have to worry about damp conditions ruining your adventure.
