A break in the fog allowed us to spy on the valley floor below.

The low lieing fog, or marine layer, went on as far as the naked eye could see.

An ocean of clouds, with what appear to be small islands popping out everywhere.

Incredible view of El Cajon mtn's prow with the morning light hitting it. Typically you could see all the way to the coast from this spot with such a clear sky. On this morning there was a sea of clouds stretching all the way to the mtn itself.

The fog settled about 300ft below us during the night.

The low lieing fog crept in on us overnight.
