Rock Climbing Photos : Big Wall : One of several crags at Boomerang

One of several crags at Boomerang

One of several crags at Boomerang

Looking up a slightly concave 17 meter crag with several fixed anchors at top for top-rope climbing - no bolts. The rope shown is not climbing rope, but rather it's green string used to get the climbing rope up and around the top-rope anchors. The anchors are made from heavy chain embedded in cement in crevices. A truck axle U-bolt is then attached to the two ends of the chain. If one part of the chain were to break (extremely unlikely), the bolt would still hold the climbing rope 100%. Estimate, the five routes at this crag range from 5.10 to 5.12 - located at Boomerang Adventure Park, 2 Km NW of Chiang Rai, northern Thailand.
