Mt. Everest from Gokyo Ri

This is a picture taken from the top of Gokyo Ri (5483m) in December 2000. We got lucky with the timing, catching the nearly full moon rising next to Everest, just as the sun was setting. This was one of the highlights in a two-week trek up the Gokyo valley.
