About Rock climbing Dahab, Wadi Gnai:
There is some great climbing located near Dahab, in south sinai, Egypt. As of now there are two areas that have been developed and we are hoping to add a lot more in the future. The climbing that exists is suitable to every level of ability - there is a little something for everyone. Currently there are some controls in place regarding the climb areas. The local gov requires that individuals going into the area have the proper papers sorted and a bedouin guide. You are able to obtain these and any help you need from Climb Sinai. There site is www.climbsinai.com. They can also help you arrange transport and what ever else you need. Camping, hiking and other trips are also a great options in this area. |
Approach: | The climbing areas are located some 20 min south of Dahab. They are all easly accessible by jeep. The water fall site takes a bit longer to get to as there is a short drive through the desert. Once on site you can get out of the car and you are right beside the wall. |

Access Issues: | There is still a bit of an issue regarding access to the area. The area is controlled by local authorities and you are required in most cases to have paper work along inorder to get through the check points. In the near future it may become easier to access these climb sites, but for the time being it is easiest to contact a local guiding company like Climb Sinai. They can deal with all the red tape and help sort out any difficulties with the police. |
