About Welingtons Dome:

Wellingtons Dome was named after an alchoholic drink that a local farmer called Jaap Moller who stays in the area drinks. Wellington's Dome is a granite rock some of the faces reach about 140m. The view from the top overlooking the imense flat African Landscape is quite amazing. There are only a few routes at the moment, with a couple of multipitch. (The Longest being 7 pitches)
Nearest town or city: Potgietersrus
Directions: All distances are measured from the Zambesi offramp from the N1. Take the N1 North (Towards Polokwane (Old Pietersburg)). After 5.3km you will pass a toll gate, unfortunately I have no idea what they will be charging at the gate, since it has not been completed when I passed there last. The next gate (Bakwena Plaza) near the Carousel will be at 40.8km , and they charge R21.00. At 106.6 you will go through the second last toll gate, Kranskop Plaza, and pay R17.00. You will pass kranskop itself within a few kilometers, some nice trad climbing there as well :) At 183.85km you will reach the last toll gate, enter through the Marble Hall/Potgietersrus gates (The two left most gates), you should e charged R7.00. When you get to a T-Junction, proceed left on the N11 towards Potgietersrus. You will continue towards another T0Junction, where you turn right on what would later become Thabo Mbeki drive. You will soon be entering Makupane with the Piet Potgieter School next to the road. Continue to about the sixth robot where you turn left in Nelson Mandela street (Some maps may still show this as Potgieter Street). There would be a Shell garage on the corner. Stick to this road past a few stop signs, donkey carts and an Engen Quickstop. After about 30km from the turn, you will notice a Platinum mine on your left and the Blinkkoppe granite dome just after that. To get to the farmhouse, coninue for about 7km, where you will find a road that turns off to the right to Luxemburg, turn right onto it. Just after it turns into a dirt road, (About 10m) there would be a road turing out on the right, take the turn, when the road forks in two you can go right to the farmhouse, or left to the camping site. Should you decide to go directly to the crag though, take a left after the mine just before a cement bus stop. Follow this dirt road through a slight dip, and turn right at a fairly well driven track nest to an outcrop with some writing on it. Stick to the most travelled by road past the outcrop. The road will have a grassy turn off to the right (If you get to a shallow qwarry you have passed this) take it through quite a donga (A better detour has been started to get passed this on the right just before the donga). You can basically just follow this road passing between Sarcophagus on the left and another outcrop on the right.
