About Osaka City Rock Gym:
The Osaka branch of City Rock Gym. Claims to be the first rock-climbing established in Japan. The other branch is in Yamatokoriyama. 4 Top-rope walls outside and numerous walls inside, including overhangs, arches and high bouldering problems. Has a large number of routes packed into a small space (over 4500 holds claimed) and can get very crowded at the weekend. Lessons are available and the lower-graded routes tend to be aimed towards children, proving somewhat of a crunch for those of average height. The slab route outside needs repair (paint is flaking off, making footwork a little tricky), but the nearby overhanging wall is reasonable new. Hire gear available, including ropes for the outside walls. Changing facilities available, small climbing gear shop and there's even a bar. |
