ko nui
About ko nui:
Deep water solo at Nui Bay |
Approach: | There are a couple options here. Most of the routes on Ko nui you have to start from the boat. The long tail boat men won't get close enough for you to climb out of the boat so a kayak is the best option for access to everything. You can rent a kayak for 600 baht a day from loh dalum bay. There is guy right next to Monkey Bar who will help you out. If you look directly north of Loh dalum bay you can see Ko Nui. About a 40 minute kayak from there. Your other option is to simply hire a long tail boat man for the day ( about 1000 baht) and bring a dry sack. Hop out of the boat and swim up to the climbs. You can traverse to alot of the climbs from a rope hanging off of koi nui. If you choose this you will be limited to only a few climbs. The final option is a swim out from nui bay with a dry sack. I would recommend this only to strong open water swimmers. Nui bay can be accessed from a path behind an abandoned village at the south western edge of Lanah Bay. There is a walking path that traverses the island from the Sea gypsy village to tonsai bay. There will be signs for Lanah Bay around Phi Phi Village. About 1.5 hours total. Go with the kayak. |
