About Oberthurnberg:

All limestone rock I think. There are several canyons with climbs of varying difficulties and heights (up to maybe 20 or 30m?). Some bouldering, but more actual routes. Most are bolted, with many abseil rings. Some have names and grades marked on the rock. A nice place.
Nearest town or city: Elsbethen
Directions: From Salzburg, go south on Aplenstrasse and go left over the bridge, then over the next bridge across the Salzach. (Take the number 51 bus to the end). Then continue along this road to the roundabout. Go right. Continue along this road for a mile or two till you cross a small bridge. (there is a petrol station shortly before this.) Turn left and continue up the path. At a farmhouse turn left onto the footpath that leads up the mountain and into the forest, continue to follow the path which will lead you straight through the canyons in which you can climb.
