About Trowbarrow Quarry (OS):

A good quarry that looks like a desolate lunar landscape. There are over 100 routes here, at all grades, mostly easier though, with most in the Diff to E3 range. Varies from 50 to 120 feet tall, generally higher though. Faces in all directions and very quick to dry. Worth a visit, a must for the HVS climber.
Nearest town or city: Carnforth
Directions: OS 97 GR SD 481 758 Alt. 49m
3 miles NNW of Carnforth. Take the A6 north from Junction 35a for three miles, a small road leads off left to the village of Yealand Redmayne. After three/fourths mile, turn right at the T-junction and follow it around keeping left on the road to Silverdale for one and a half miles and park. A path leads off through the woods to the right and to the quarry in a few minutes.
