About Crag Lough (OS):

A rare find in England, a crag of quartz dolerite, up to 90 feet in height. Over 100 routes in all grades from Diff upwards, there is something for everyone here. North facing over a lake, bad for midges in the summertime. Quite popular and worth a visit.
Nearest town or city: Henshaw
Directions: OS 87 GR NY 765 679 Alt. 247m
11 miles WNW of Hexham. From Haydon Bridge take the A69 going west to Henshaw, turn right and go to the B6318. Go over and up to a car park in about 300 yards. From here walk east along the ridge to Peel Crag in about 30 seconds and Crag Lough in about 15 minutes, overlooking the lake.
