About Shining Clough (OS):
The major outcrop of the Longendale area. A 20 to 80 foot gritstone crag, with about 100 routes in all grades to the Extremes. Extensive and very good climbing found around here. The crag is steep in most parts and north facing, worth a visit in the summer and fall. |

Directions: | OS 110 GR SK 097 987 Alt. 466m 3.5 miles NE of Glossop. Take the B6105 northeast out of Glossop for about four miles until you are about 200 yards before the junction with the A628 at Crowden, and park before the road takes a sharp left. From here, take the track on the right leading up the hillside to the edge. Shining Clough is on the left hand end, if you head to the right hand end, you have reached the Rollick Stones. |
