About Thors Cave (OS):

A very impressive limestone cave with some serious routes in it. About 30 routes, VS and up, most worth doing more than once. Most lines are 150 feet long so bring a 60 meter rope. Also a popular tourist attraction so expect to be watched and questioned.
Nearest town or city: Ashbourne
Directions: OS 119 GR SK 098 549 Alt. 273m
7 miles NW of Ashbourne. Take the A515 and turn off to Alstonfield and go through to Wetton. From here take the Butterton road and park at the bottom of the hill by the river. Cross the river and take the footpath down it. Thor's Cave is about ten minutes down the river on the opposite bank, there is a footbridge to cross over to it.
