The Foundry the U.K's first dedicated large indoor climbing centre to open in December 1991. Designed by climbers to provide a climbing facility to suit all from beginner to expert. We have added new walls through the years in order to continually improve and upgrade the Centre. Most recently in 2005 and 2006 a new top rope slab area and extension of 'The Wave' bouldering wall with a flat panel 10 to 20 degree section with lots of technical less steep problems set with Bleaustone holds, the walls sponsor. The routes and boulder problems are set by some of the UK's most accomplished setters and climbers including Chris Plant, Rob Napier, Mark Pretty, Steve McClure, Neil Bentley and other guest setters.
