The Forêt Domaniale de Larchant is located NW of Nemours and SW of Fontainebleau, south of the forest of the Trois-Pignons, between the villages of Larchant (south) and La Chapelle-le-Reine (NW). Its 3 famous bouldering areas are La Dame Jouanne (furthest NE of this state forest) with the highest boulders of Bleau, Le Maunoury which is the little brother of La Dame Jouanne and just next to it, and L'Eléphant (South of this forest) with wonderfully shaped boulders (highballs) on a great see of sand on the sides of a hill. |
