About Castillon:
Castillon is a limestone cliff, 15 km north of Menton and Monte-Carlo, near the french-italian border. This crag offers around 40 sport routes, short and overhanging (under 25m), between 6b and 8c+, mainly set by two climbers : Philippe Maurel and Axel Franco. Hard routes are set there, like Mass Destruction (8a) or Mortal Kombat (7c+), both open by Franco. Avoid it in summer time, due to the altitude (only 450m - 1500ft) and orientation (south-west). |
