About Saint-Bauzille-de-Montmel:

Another important limestone cliff 20 kilometers only north of Montpellier, over the village of St-Bauzille-de Montmel. And not very far from L'Hortus, about 10 kilometers... So there you have to go!
If you like slabs in the french 6th and 7th grades (5.10, 5.11, and 5.12) you will love it : the rock is good, the slabs vertical or overhanging or convex (!) (up to 5.14a if you want it)...all technical routes with small holds : don't forget to bring your feet, and your shoes, with you! (And trust me, I keep burning souvenirs from a trip there...). The routes there are not longer than 30 meters so a 70m rope will be good everywhere. The routes are bolted, just bring quickdraws (10-12 should be good) and a sling for the belay (usually chains), and it will be OK.

Some Bonelli's eagles (endangered species - Hieraaetus fasciatus) are nesting there in the spring, so some areas (far left, the north face) are forbidden all year long.

Find the road to the cliff, and park your car near the water reservoir. Then walk on the path for few minutes.
