Brittany is a large cristalline (mainly granit and schists) area, with a few limestone sediments in the east, more famous for its sailors than for its climbers! Nonetheless, the avid climbers travelling there will find some neat places to sport climb, do trad, or even boulder, mainly on the shore granitic cliffs or huge boulders. With the wind, the crags can get dry fast, but they become wet even faster... The main cities of Brittany are Brest in the far west, Rennes in the middle east, Nantes in the south, and St-Malo on the north shore. For the purpose of the site classification, some adjacent areas are included here, like the northern aprt of Vendée by example.
