One of the best towers in Berlin. Nice structures and a good variety of routes.

The neighbourhood is perfectly suited for social studies of all kinds. Most people here live on welfare - at least that's what one hopes - and one wouldn't exactly wanna spend the night on the park bench. Nonetheless the greatest danger might be to be pick pocketed while belaying. Plus those kids on the playground can get a little annoying. Keep your valuables in sight and don't let yourself be provoked by eight year olds - they have older brothers much more developed in a physical way.

The whole situation got much better since they started the socalled 'Kiez-Klettern' (neighbourhood climbing), which allows the local kids to climb under supervision of a social worker. Actually the place is much better than rumours would tell.
Approach: From U-Bahn Station Bülowstraße (U2) walk down Bülowstraße to the east. Turn right into Steinmetzstraße and the next crossing left into Alvenslebenstraße. The tower is on a playground on the left side.
Approach Time: <10 min

Access Issues: The tower belongs to the DAV (German Alpine Club), Section Berlin and access is only granted for members and the people of the neighbourhood. Groups and classes of the Section have the prior claim.
