Gaudlitzberg
About Gaudlitzberg:
Arguably the 2nd best/largest quarry in the Hohburger Berge. Decent collection of mediocre low-grade routes, with a few quality mid-grade lines at either end of the crag. |
Approach: | From the Steinbergstr./Hauptstr., turn off (head E.) directly across from a shelter hut on the W. side of the road, midway between Treben and Kleinzschepa. Park in one of the turn-offs, either side of the first curve you come to (appx. 250m). To access Gaudlitzberg, walk past the boulders blocking the old track (left-hand turn-off). For the direct approach, use the track that appears to the right after a few meters. For the longer, but more level, approach, continue up (N.) the old track until the quarry gate appears on the right. |
