About Creag nam Fitheach:
Just below and south of Kilmichael Hill at GR NR783848, Creag nam Fitheach is 30m high rising from an extensive boulder jumble. A few of the belays have bolts (the crag was once used by an outoor centre) Routes are listed from left to right, not all routes are yet shown. Feel free to add routes you have climbed. For the local guide book ask for SMC Arran, Arrochar and the Southern Highlands ISBN 0 907521-49-5 The rock is very compact, covered by fine lichen and a joy to climb in the dry. In the wet it becomes lethal and a visitor would be better advised to try Creag nan Lallag 1km south. Midges are a major problem from late May to October, unless you pick a breezy day. |
