About Desplomilandia:
Desplomilandia is an area of mainly north facing limestone crags about 30 minutes drive from the village of El Chorro. If you find the cliffs at El Chorro too hot or prefer climbing in the shade this is a great place to climb. The climbing is mostly gently overhanging edge and pocket pulling between 15 and 25 metres long though there is some steeper and longer routes. Desplommilandia is also a good place to escape the sometimes crowded cliffs of El Chorro. The best routes are in the 6b/c to 8a range though there are a number of worthwhile 5s and 6a's too. |

Directions: | From the town of El Chorro go out over the dam and turn right. Follow the windy road for about 15 minutes and turn right at a T junction. Follow this past several restaurants and across two dammed areas of water. After the second of these continue for around half a mile and take a dirt track road off to the left. Follow this past a big limestone quarry on the R after another quarter of mile and the first crags can be seen on the R a bit further on. Different dirt tracks lead up to below the crags. A good parking spot is just past El Triangular on the R. |
