Description:

From the Klein Matterhorn cable car station, it is a ~2 walk across the Mezzalama glacier to the base of Pollux. From here there is some easy scrambling up loose rocks until you reach a steeper section which is secured with a fixed rope. Climb this and upon topping out, you will reach a statue of the Madonna. From here it is a simple walk up a snow covered path to the summit. The ascent from base to summit takes about 1 hr.

4 out of 5 stars Ascent Note

Be careful to not climb this too late in the day. We chained together Castor and Pollux and the recrossing of the Mezzalama glacier (at about 7:00 PM) became very dangerous due to the softened ice-bridges over the crevasses.
