About 03. Shaan-Kaya:
Shaan-Kaya is a very inspiring peak 871 m high near the city of Alupka. The face itself is around 250 meters long, overhanging in the middle. It has some of the hardest lines in Crimea, such as the 250m Atlant-M, an 8-pitch climb with the hardest pitch being 8b and the easiest 7b, freeclimbed in 2006 by Krivosheitsev, probably one of the hardest multi-pitch lines in the ex-Soviet Union. For the topo line see here - the one in green. |
Approach: | Take the bus to the 'Pitomnik' bus stop in Alupka, than walk up the road and cross the vinyards to another ground road leading to the face. |
