About Helsby (OS):
A large crag with over 100 routes on it, 20 to 40 feet tall. The sandstone is excellent to climb on, but too weak to hold good protection, thus top roping is very acceptable here. Routes in all grades from very easy to very hard, and most of them are very good. West facing, it catches the sun well, but is a little too exposed to be comfortable in the winter.
I started my climbing here as I was at the local school. russoggi |
