About Cwm Silyn (OS):

A superb area offering a lot of climbing on several different crags. There are several crags scattered around beautiful twin lakes in a gorgeous cwm, but all are dwarfed in quality by CRAIG YR OGOF. The climbs on the slabs of the OGOF are sparsely protected but are not unduly difficult. The other crags tend to be less continuous and somewhat vegetated, but there are some nice routes there nonetheless.
Nearest town or city: Caernarfon
Directions: OS 115 GR SH 518 502 Alt. 613m
7 miles SSE of Caernarfon. Approach from Penygroes on the A487. Turn left and after three-fourths mile turn right up a small lane and continue for one mile. Park, then walk East around the mountain. After two miles, the twin lakes in a beautiful cwm are reached, great for swimming on a hot summer's day. The cliffs should be obvious from here.
