About Taffs Well Quarry(OS):
This is a large, chossy and definately dangerous quarry, up to 250 feet high. The only reason for its popularity is the easy access to Cardiff. Most of the 50 or so routes have loose holds and questionable protection, requiring the skill and nerve of an Extreme leader even on the "easier" routes. Toproping is considered very sane here, if not desirable. |
