About The Cauldron(OS):

This is a bird-nesting area, and is off-limits to climbing between 1 March and 1 August. This is a rather spectacular almost 200 foot deep hole in the ground. It can be a miserable on a poor day, but there is a powerful, eerie character to the area. Rappell approach to the bottom, and climb out on one of the ten or so routes rated VS and up. Recommended to the competent leader only!
Nearest town or city: Stack Rocks
Directions: OS158--GR929/945 From the Stack Rocks car park, walk east along the cliffs for about 400 yards to the big hole in the ground.
