Hermit Wall
About Hermit Wall:
This wall is on the opposite side of the canyon from the White Imperialist area. It is almost always soaking wet due to runoff and it's northernly aspect means that the sun cannot help to dry it off. There are, however, rumours of some excellent climbing to be had here when conditions permit. The routes have a slightly different flavour from the rest of Grassi and are highly worth checking out, if you can. During winter months, there are also several ice pillars that form here usually in grade 4 and 5 conditions. |
