Upper Tier
About Upper Tier:
Getting to the upper tier takes a fair bit more effort than the lower tier. At the dry creek crossing, instead of crossing to the west bank, continue up the creek bottom. In about 50m you will get to a talus slope. An indinstinct trails switchbacks up the slope, breaking through the ledge system far to the left. Head up to the Ram's Head, the prominent rock pinnacle. The winds here are usually less severe than the lower tier. It also gets more late afternoon sun. This is a very good place to learn how to lead on safe routes than can easily be toproped. |
