About Paint Mountain:

This is a complex series of granite outcrops on the southern face of Paint Mountain. There are endless possiblities for the explorer here, with an incredible view of the Kluane Range and Pine Lake nestled down below. The most imposing faces are found to the left and in the center, with the right side being more broken in nature, with more easily accessed intermediate climbs. This often seen, but rarely visited area is one of the most stunning and exciting places to be found in the Yukon.
Nearest town or city: Haines Junction
Directions: Just before reaching Haines Junction coming from Whitehorse on Alaska Highway #1 you will pass Pine Lake Road. About 2 KM past this road is a dirt road leading around the west end of Pine Lake. After about 1 KM, take the right fork in the road and follow it to its end at the old tower maintenance tram. Park there and work your way up to the rocks.
