About Cheaha State Park:

Cheaha State Park is the highest point in Alabama. There is a restaurant, a small grocery store, cabins and camping.
Nearest town or city: Anniston
Directions: The majestic mountain range peaks at 2407 feet above sea level. Lush green vallers of the Talledega National Forest surround Cheaha Mountain State Park. Easily accessible from Brimingham, Montgomery and the Atlanta areas. From the Birmingham and Atlanta areas follow Interstate 20. Take exit 191 near Anniston. Turn south on US Highway 431 for aproximately 4 miles on the access road to Highway 281 south. Follow 281 South to the park, watch for Cheaha State Park signs. From Montgomery, go north on Highway 231. When you reach Wetumpka turn right on highway 9 going north. Follow highway 9 for approximately 65 miles to Lineville. Turn left on highway 49 and follow north until it dead ends on Highway 281. Turn left on highway 281 straight to the park.
