About Bama Rock Gardens:
A smattering of small rock walls and boulders in a creek bed. I saw some more big boulders on the hillside behind the trailer at the end of the road. This is an old park that still has some abandoned sidewalks, bridges, etc. Access information is not known. You can park on the gravel drive and walk across a cutover to get to the rock without crossing anyones yard. |
Nearest town or city: | Tuscaloosa |
Directions: | Also known as 8 acre rock by the locals. Go to Vance and turn left on Bama Rock Gardens road just past the gas station. Go until you see a small subdivision sign about 2 miles up. The gardens are hidden off to the left. Turn left past the sign on the minor drive, and go about 200 yards up and park near the curve. Get out and walk to the left through the cutover about 100 yards to the beginning of the rock. |
