About Mt Healy:

This mountian which is 5716 feet overlooks Healy, Alaska and the Nenana River. It is bordered on the East side by the Parks Highway and the South side by the Denali National Park.
Approach: The Denali Park trail is the easiest approach. Enter the Park and ride the bus to the Trailhead. The trail is well marked until you leave the vegetation behind. The Denali Park aproach is a day hike you can take the family along. The Bison gulch appraoch is much longer and slightly more dangerous. Park at the parking lot near Bison Gulch on the Parks Highway. There is a unmarked but well used trail that followes a ridge. You will see a false peak and will not be able to see the real peak until you reach the saddle. This is a long day hike and must be started early.
