About Eagle-Whiteout-Eklutna Glacier Complex:

This glacier complex offers access to the heart of the Chugach state park and is relatively easily accessible without fly ins. Endless opportunities for peak bagging, skiing, alpine rock, and ice climbing as well as the convenience of a Mountaineering Club maintained hut system draw great numbers of local and visiting mountaineers every year. This area is remote and requires glacier travel skills and equipment to be negotiated safely. All of the grandeur of Alaska can be experienced here.
Nearest town or city: Girdwood/Eklutna
Directions: Access to the complex is easiest from one of two locations: Eklutna Lake trailhead, or Crow Pass Trailhead. Both trailheads require a $5 per day parking fee, or a year pass can be purchased from Chugach state park for $40. Access from the Crow Pass TH in the winter or early spring is extremely dangerous due to high avalanche danger, so most will fly in from Girdwood during these months.
