About The Barrio:

40-60 foot technical limestone/sandstone sport climbs in an asthetic canyon 30 minutes east of Flagstaff n the San Francisco Wash.
Nearest town or city: Flagstaff
Directions: Directions to The Barrio Get onto the Leupp road 505 from the Townsend Winona road (I40 [211] to US89). Follow Leupp road to mile post 443.2 and turn right on forest road 91280. Follow the dirt road for 0.8 mile passing several turnings, but keeping straight (S) to a Y. Take the right branch still signed 91280. The road heads toward the obvious San Francisco wash – at this point it is Basalt. Follow the edge of the wash to cattle grate at 0.9 miles Do not cross the grate but turn left along another dirt track, this time on the north side of a fence (the was that has angled eastwards). Follow this for 0.7 mile; you pass a obvious wire gate in the fence. There are now 2 quick right exits. The second is best and leads into an area of Pinion. Follow the track into the Pinion and eastwards. The Barrio is straight below. Head east to the edge and scramble down to the wash. The bulk of the climbs are to the right. There are approximately 20; many more that are detailed here and on both sides of the wash. You can also get into the wash from the first of the 2 exits; a walk rather than a scramble. There is also a great potential for new easier grade routes.
