Granite quality ranges from vertical kitty litter to some pretty good stuff. Very fractured with numerous inclusions, more chickenheads than buckets. Manzanita and other underbrush around the moisture-holding granite is dense and deep, at best. Some clear rock exists, but be prepared to prune. 4WD or high clearance vehicle is a good bet, however, you can get off the road in a normal car... but leaving it parked at an area frequented by local partiers and the odd carload of bored teens is a strictly personal call. Bring brush saw, clippers, and lots of TR slings... or all the pruning tools and a crashpad. There is definitely less good bouldering right up front than, say, down at Oak Flats, but it is granite, and there's something to be said for that.

Exposure means it's dry sooner, but windy, too, and colder than down in QC. Dress/equip accordingly.
