About Twin Buttes:
Top rope and Sport route area. Around Twenty five climbs, most climbs have seperate bolted anchors for top-rope. Currently, there are around 11 well bolted sport routes, three of which are multi-pitch. Easy access and good shade after 3 P.M. makes this a nice local crag, and is set up to train anchors on a mock hanging belay, roped solo climbing with full strength anchors at the bottom of three climbs (also good to train escaping a belay) , and muti-directional anchors (but with bolts). The Buttes are earning a reputation for mild routes that are hard to onsight, due to the unique features of the rock. "Interesting" sums it up. |

Go right at the split (50 yards north), and continue to a small "parking lot". Trail is located in the North/East corner of the parking lot next to some grey boulders. Hike 200 - 300 yards to the climbing area (bottom). The split for the trail that goes to the top is at the beginning of the rock band as you come up the trail from the parking lot. |
