About Cave Creek:
The newest (and probably the least used area in the valley), Cave Creek is mostly well shaded but south facing cliffs. Many of the routes offer very slopey interludes and most of the rock you will encounter is very rounded, very few crimper type holds. |
Nearest town or city: | Mt. Judea |
Directions: | It is located 3.4 miles south of Sam's Throne.Follow old loggin road "might have rocks stacked up by edge" east of HWY 123. Always puddled, you either push through the water, or park and hike it in. (Any self-respecting SUV or truck can handle these, but I wouldn't try it in an Accord...)I have done it in a mini-van, dont be frontin. Once you reach a clearing, there are primitive campsites on all sides with trails leading down to the climbs it's only a 10 minute or less walkdown to the bottom. |
