About The Fin:

The Fin is a newly developed wall high above Eagle Lake and Lake Tahoe. It's altitude and exposure make it a good place to climb on a warm summer day. Awesome views and fun climbing. The only problem is it is about 1.5 hour hike to get there (quicker on the way down). Approach: Follow the diretions to Eagle Buttress. Continue hiking, passing the buttress to the right. Parallel the ridge for 1/3 mile staying 100ft below the cliffs. Shortly you will pass Bubinga Boulder on the right. Keep looking up and left and in about 10 minutes you will notice a striking fin shaped incut into the ridgeline. Continue until you are just below it and then scramble up easy 4th class to the base of the wall, some 20-30 ft up.
