from Arcata: East on 299. Right turn on underwood mountain rd (in the city of burnt ranch). Right on 5N40. Drive past the Trinity Aretes for 2 1/2 miles. Just past the lookout when you see the rock to the right, you will encounter a road which is currently blocked off. Park your car as far as you can go and hike the road. Once you reach the flat at the end of the road, follow the ridge that you paralleled up to the rock.
From Redding: same thing except west on 299 and a left turn on underwood mountain road near burnt ranch. |
