About Trona (Searles) Pinnacles:
| Weird desert landscape with numerous tufa pinnacles (just like at Mono Lake), some as high as 100'. It's like a poor man's limestone (it's not even rock) with pockets, edges and lots of features, but it can be wicked sharp. Good bouldering as well as pinnacle bagging are the main attractions here, although at one time there were bolted sport routes. Most of the sport routes are gone now, but a few still exist here and there. |
