About Wagon Wheel:
Low elevation desert. Scorching in the summer and cold as hell in the winter nights. Huge potential as a bouldering area though. There are many established boulder problems. I would recommend this area to climbers traveling up the 395 on thier way to the buttermilks or Yosemite as a diversion. Not exactly a destination point but well worth a look for boulderers. It's BLM land so camping is not a problem. The rock is solid and offers many quality problems. Well worth a visit. |
Nearest town or city: | Ridgecrest |
Directions: | On your travel up the 395 you will hit a ghost town, Johannnesburg. Keep a tight eye for Trona Road. Follow for approximately 15 miles and keep your eyes fixed to the right. The rock will bring you home. |
